Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department Open House

Saturday, October 11, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
Location: 7011 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA 22150

Join us for the annual Open House with the Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department. This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is:

“Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home”

The focus will be on helping families understand how to buy, charge, store, and dispose of batteries safely to prevent fires in the home.

This family-friendly event is especially meaningful to Areizo, who has proudly volunteered with the department since the age of 16. Stop by for hands-on demos, kid-friendly activities, and practical safety tips you can use every day.

Highlights

  • Fire Prevention Week theme: Battery safety education for all ages

  • Fire and life safety demonstrations

  • Meet-the-firefighters and apparatus tours

  • Kids activity zone and take-home resources
